Re: AUP file won't open
Audacity 1.2.x doesn't work well on recent macs. Audacity 1.3.13 is the recommended version for OS-X 10.6. You should upgrade. You can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can open 1.2.x projects on 1.3.x, but not the other way. Audacity projects are made of two parts: the .aup fi...

Re: Vinyl recording stops after 7 - 8 minutes
May you be running out of disk space? You should also try to upgrade to the latest 1.3.13 version. Audacity 1.3.9 is a bit outdated and it had quite a few problems. The latest 1.3.13 is quite more stable and bug free. See if you have an updated pre-built package available for Mepis, otherwise you'll...

Re: Can I use Audacity for direct live vocal performance
Audacity doesn't do anything in real time, except recording.mutley365 wrote:Hi I'm new to audacity and I was wondering if you can use the effects and so on as a tool for direct live performances than just a straight recording tool?
Any effects can only be applied after recording is finished.

Re: WAV audio not time shifting
Since WAV will not save multi-tracks over 2, that's a feature request, isn't it? Koz Actually you can save WAVs with more than 2 channels... Go to Preferences -> Export -> Use custom mix Then when you export as WAV you'll be prompted about how many channels you want and to which channel you want ea...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 Won't Open Using Vista Home Premium 32b
I just downloaded this program, and I'm having the same problem. Somehow, though, the program still opens, it just won't let me use anything in the 'effects' tab, and probably other stuff that I haven't discovered yet... How do you open a program in compatibility mode? I wanna see if that works. Th...

Re: WAV audio not time shifting
I'm not sure if I understand what you're trying to do... If you save it as an audacity project, when you open the project again the tracks should be in the same shifted position. If you export the tracks separately to wav files and then import them back to audacity, what you're describing will happe...

Re: Recording from Stereo Mix
What version of Windows do you have? Which sound card? On Windows 7 (and Vista too I think) some sound card drivers no longer have the stereo mix option available... Do you have any "stereo mix" or "mix-out" or "what u hear" option in Preferences -> Devices -> Recording device ? Which exact version ...
