Re: Stopped Recording
Do you have the right device selected as the recording device?
You should connect the usb cable and turn on the turntable before running audacity so that it is properly detected.
Which Audacity version are you running? (check in Help menu -> About)
Which Windows version? (XP, Vista, 7...)

Re: Recording problem from guitar amp to laptop
Like Koz said you're connecting a (near) line-level output (headphones output) to a mic level input (mic socket on the laptop). The mic socket on the laptop is designed to connect a mic to it... which will have a very tiny signal on it, needing a lot of amplification. That's where the distortion com...

Re: "You posted to 1.2.x, not 1.3.x"
This has been discussed thoroughly before between the moderators. I've already expressed my opinion before so I'm not bringing that up again. Anyway regarding what whbjr suggested I'd be perfectly fine with it. If we switch the order of the sections the situation will get inverted and some 1.2.x pos...

Re: Exporting To My Database
Thank you for the feedback. So from what I understood you're using a modified version of Audacity, meaning that you modified audacity's source code to write directly to the mysql database... am I right on this? Safer option will copy the audio to audacity and make a copy of it, that will go either t...

Re: Can't hear audacity playback
1.3.5 is quite an old version. You really should upgrade to the latest 1.3.13 (or at the very least to 1.3.12). Doesn't Fedora provide packages of any more recent version of Audacity? You can also get the source from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ and compile it, but it would be much easier...

Re: Cassette tapes into iTunes via Audacity 1.3.3 Beta
First of all you should upgrade your Audacity. 1.3.3 is a very old version. The latest version is 1.3.13 and you can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ Second I must ask if you're sure it was working in stereo before... Most laptops don't have a line input, most will have only a mic...

Re: Can't hear audacity playback
Which Audacity version do you have? To know your version go to Audacity's Help menu and select "About".
Software playthrough has nothing to do about playback. You probably have the wrong playback device selected. Go to Audacity's Preferences -> Devices -> Playback device.
