Do you have the right device selected as the recording device?

You should connect the usb cable and turn on the turntable before running audacity so that it is properly detected.

1.3.5 is quite an old version. You really should upgrade to the latest 1.3.13 (or at the very least to 1.3.12). Doesn't Fedora provide packages of any more recent version of Audacity?
