Re: Distorted exported MP3 tracks
I did have subscribe topic "on". You mai is the first that came through since I have not heard anything. It should send an email whenever someone adds a posting right? Or do you have to address someone? You should get an email after someone replies. If there are two or more replies since your last ...

Re: six pages of spam - cant find real messages
I was blocked today too from posting here, because of spamhaus. The message I got when posting was the same as from the pic Gale posted. My ip address range was list in PBL and XBL. My computers are not being used for spam or whatever they say on spamhaus. I have ADSL connection with dynamic ips fro...

Re: Distorted exported MP3 tracks
I did not receive any emails telling me that the discussion is progressing (what do I have to do to get emails?). At the bottom of this page click the link that says "Subscribe topic". If you want to subscribe a topic when you post you can check the "Notify me when a reply is posted" option below t...

Re: Timer recording does not want to stop !
I remember when I used to use mythtv to record programs from tv... When I wanted to enter a manual schedule the parameters were "starting time" and "duration" there was no "ending time". I never felt it was awkward... it always felt that was normal... probably because that was the only option availa...

Re: Increase input volume for system sound
Distorted sound won't damage your computer. Too high volume will cause clipping (distortion) which should be avoidable at all cost, because that will compromise the quality of the recording. You should set the recording volume at a level for which the peak will occur at about half the maximum. On a ...

Re: Timer recording does not want to stop !
Instead of the parameters being start time and end time, it could be start time and duration... Bruno, you can already do that - in the setup dialog box for Timer Record there are three input boxes: 1) Start Date and Time 2) End Date and Time 3) Duration Setting the duration in box 3 will change th...

Re: Timer recording does not want to stop !
That patch still uses system time while waiting for recording to start (so would respect for example a daylight savings change to the system clock made in the waiting period), but uses its own timer during recording. So a system clock change during recording (a daylight savings change, or the commo...

Re: six pages of spam - cant find real messages
A few days ago I stepped into some forum, which had an interesting tactic against spam... new users' first post was moderated. This meaning that their first post was put on hold until a moderator would make it visible. After that all posts would automatically show up. I believe most if not all spam ...

Re: Setup for mobile recording with wireless mic?
On the back of the ART you should have the "MIX" button fully turned to the left (where it says "preamp"). For my guitar recording I usually have the gain between 30 and 40 dB (depending on the mic distance from the guitar), which is almost near the max. I don't get much hiss, even if I turn it to m...

Re: Saving Audacity Data Files
Just a thought on FLAC vs. WAV as an archiving format. With WAV files, if there is slight damage to the file (for example due to an unreadable bit on the disk that it's stored on), it is usually still possible to recover the rest of the file. Does anyone know if the case is the same for FLAC, or do...
