Re: 2 questions.1 weird noise during playback 2 annoying bg

This is a two part question. 1) I record instrumental songs I write on my guitar and I use an E3500 webcam as a mic. However once I get done recording I get this weird sound as if everything is muffled and you can't hear it clearly. Is there any effect I can use to clear things up and get a better,...

Re: Podcasting: Fan Noise

I wonder if the noise sarah hears is really fan noise being captured by the mic... From what I could understand it's probably a cheap headset, so if using the tricks above doesn't produce any improvemente, then probably the noise is coming from somewhere else (the mic itself or its poor quality anal...

Re: Sound Card Reviews

I believe most motherboard's built-in soundcards have mic boost, whether it's hardware or software boost beats me... I'm on the laptop now, so I can't confirm, but I believe my asus xonar essence stx has mic boost option and it works on linux, but probably is also a bit over your desired budget... S...

Re: OpenSuse 11.1 and Audacity.

Probably the configure script didn't find all the necessary libs (and respective headers) during the (pre-)compilation process... Run ./configure again and pay attention to the check list and see if it found all the necessary libs and headers. One of the good things about Linux and free software is ...

Re: another display problem

Could also be related to the window manager you're using. There was a recent thread here about someone who was missing the menus on audacity, that was caused by some gnome applet or similar (also only happened on some apps).

Re: [Ubuntu 10.04, Audacity 1.3.12-beta] Cannot open .wma fi

If the only goal is to convert files from one format to another, there are probably better (and simpler) tools (graphical and command line) for that rather than Audacity.

Re: OpenSuse 11.1 and Audacity.

Can you describe your problem in more detail?

What fails in which step?

Also which audacity version are you using?

Re: Applying Effects from command line

The closest you have with audacity is it's batch processing mode: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Batch_Processing It doesn't work from the command line, but you can apply the same effect to a batch of files from the GUI. You may also post a request for more elaborated command line op...

Re: Audacity icon association

I've been using linux since 1998 I think... My favourite distro for the last 10 years or so has been Debian (which Ubuntu is based on). About your problem... I'm not sure what you mean with the Icon association. Do you mean the file type association in your file manager/browser? If so maybe you'll f...

Re: cn anyone help me record over a beat

If you can't understand the tutorials what can we possibly tell you that will be any different?

If you understand better with a visual explanation search youtube for audacity tutorials... I'm pretty sure you shall find plenty!
