Re: Sound problems after first experiments with Jack

I'm not very sure how ubuntu sets up jack and which apps are controlling what regarding the sound system... You can't have alsa, pulseaudio and jack all at the same time taking over the sound card... If you're running jackd on a particular soundcard, it has to be available, that means that if any ap...

Re: Possible to use Anwida DX Reverb Light plugin in Ubuntu?

Is there a step by step guide anywhere for using Jack and JackRack with Audacity? Not that I know of... It's on my plans to write a wiki page about setting up JACK in linux and setting up Audacity with JACK, but I don't know yet when I'll do it... JACK is a very interesting and powerful audio kit f...

Re: Exporting MP3s - How do I change bitrate?

It should remember your last setting and automatically save it in the preferences file.

Try upgrading to the latest 1.3.12 version.

Re: Help needed confirming display bug on Mac

I confirm the bug on audacity 1.3.12-beta, MacOS-X 10.6.4 on a MacBookPro.

If I stretch the window down it will fit, if I shrink it again to the smaller size it happens again.

Re: Possible to use Anwida DX Reverb Light plugin in Ubuntu?

"Calf Reverb" is pretty good, but the sliders don't work in Audacity, but you can use it with JackRack. Ah! That explains a lot... I thought I was going nuts the last time I was playing around with the calf reverb effect... no matter how much I changed the sliders it always seemed to soun...

Re: MP3 Export Quality

I think there's a higher value of 300 or 360 where you would need expensive instruments to tell where the damage is, but there is always some. It's 320 kbps. Though I consider 192 kbps to be very acceptable. Using variable bitrates rather than constant might give you a better quality at the same fi...

I was checking all sellers, not all but some do ship to Portugal, although the shipping costs vary a lot......

Re: inpur source

Tell us more about your system... What do you mean by no luck? You don't get any sound at all from the mic, or you get bad sound? What recording device have you selected in Preferences->Devices? (host and recording) Have you been able to successfully record anything from the mic input before with ot...
