Re: audigy 2 ZS notebook - problem recording audio

If you're on Ubuntu you're probably running pulseaudio. If you don't have it yet, install pulseaudio's volume control and see if you can select the line-in input from there. If so then there's hope! I think you need to select default as host on audacity's preferences, but Steve is the expert on ubun...

Re: big and bold 'read me first' in board index page?

I've also noticed that the international forums are the ones which seem to get more spam... maybe because they show at the top of list... Maybe we should create another board/forum at the top and call it "Trash Can" or "Spammers'r'us"

Can you make it red and bold? ;)

And instead of "How to post a question" I could bet it would draw more attention if it said "I need help!!" :)

Re: SSM2019 monolithic pre-amp chip

If you get a pack or resistors, there's a good chance that there will be a matching pair. If you have a reasonable multimeter, testing is very easy. If not, there's the old Wheatstone Bridge method. http://sound.westhost.com/project96.htm#appendix I thought of that too... Not sure about the reasona...

Re: SSM2019 monolithic pre-amp chip

Thanks for all the comments Koz. I haven't started thinking about it yet... I had some ideas a few monthes ago, which I didn't write down and that I have forgotten by now... :) I will have to start searching again, read the datasheets, googling, etc... My main goal is to build an amp for my large di...

big and bold 'read me first' in board index page?

Is there a way to a BIG and BOLD link in front page of the forum saying "READ ME BEFORE POSTING" where there would be basic guidelines about how to post on the forums? Like explaining which forum is more appropriate to post the users question and what info should be in the post (audacity v...

Everything :)

What operating system? Which audacity version? What's your source? Are you recording from a mic? How is it connected to the computer? What recording device have you selected on Preferences? Do you have hardware or software playthrough on?

Re: Input Volume Way Too High In Ubuntu 10.10

The greyed out slider means that audacity can't take over the control of the sound volume. You have to use another mixer controller. Such as gnome's or pulseaudio's sound mixer control panel. You can also use alsamixer on a terminal window.

Re: Labels From Project Not Exporting to .wav File

Like I said before, labels can't be saved into a .wav file. If you want to do clicks removal and other effects in other app, the best you can do to achieve what you want is to export your show to a .wav file. Open the wav in the other app. Apply the effect you want. Save it. Import the processed wav...

Re: SSM2019 monolithic pre-amp chip

I was thinking about getting a +/- 18V power supply, but I need to read the datasheets again, to be sure of the tensions I will need... I made my components list a few months ago and I've completely forgot why I chose it that way then... I think the +/- 18V was to be able to achieve 48Vdc (18Vac * 2...
