Re: Problem with exported project and Foobar2000

That seems to be a problem with Foobar and not Audacity...

By the way you can export directly to FLAC from Audacity.

Re: Not able to down load help manual

If you downloaded audacity 1.3.13 (latest beta) from audacity website, then it should include the manual. On Audacity if you go to the Help menu and select "Manual" doesn't it open the manual in your web browser?

Re: random stop

unckecking playtrough was the solution. Recording reached the end. Software playthrough can create some problems sometimes on Linux... In most cases you don't need it... so better to leave it off. Tried to compile 1.13.13 and during the make I got this blocking error FFmpeg.cpp: In function 'int uf...

Re: guitar & mic eqipment?

Moved to Recording Equipment section. What's the budget? If he wants to record both voice and guitar simultaneously with different mics, then he needs two mics and a mic preamp with two inputs. For connecting to the computer the best is to have an interface/preamp with usb connection. There are som...

Re: Audacity stops recording after few seconds

Which Audacity version are you using? Are you recording directly from ALSA drivers, or using PulseAudio or JACK as a mid layer? (what have you selected in Preferences -> Devices?) What sample rate are you recording in? 44100Hz? 48000Hz? Just to make sure... Free disk space is not an issue right? Als...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)

Regarding 2nd question, the first wave form is logarithmic. That's the kind of shape we get when you use the envelope tool. If you switch to waveform (dB) view you'll notice it shows a straight line instead of a curve. The reason why dB's are so often used in audio is because human ears perceive sou...

Re: Problem with fast track / audacity compatibility - windo

Do you have software playthrough on? If so try turning it off (Transport Menu).

Read the FAQ link Koz posted about disabling the windows "enhancements".

Latest Audacity version is 1.3.13. It has some bug fixes over 1.3.12 you might want to upgrade it.

He said he's on Lion, so could be an Audacity-on-Lion kind of bug...

dddleary, I just thought of another thing... you're not running Audacity from the dmg and trying to export to the dmg image disk are you? That wouldn't work either.
