Re: Laptop noise problem
yeah, I have everything hooked up on the same power strip. I don't juse HiFi cables, but through my monitors I don't have any problem with sound except for out of this laptop. When I record, I do get some noise, but it is very little. It is the same noise though. if I don't have the laptop out in th...

Laptop noise problem
i am currently using a Compaq laptop for my recording, until I am able to afford an new desktop. I am having an issue with what seems to be processor noise, or maybe even something to do with my soundcard. If I am not constantly doing something with the computer, it will start making this weird mid ...

Re: Apparent noise can be made to disappear
this might sound stupid, but do you have any audio cables running close to or on top of power cabels? that makes noises, and a touch of the wire position can stop it or start it. it could be as simple as accidentally kicking a power strip under a desk and you'll start getting noise. is your laptop g...

Re: Record from mixer to laptop

I use the same method, I have my Eurorack's Tape output plugged into my computer with a normal stereo rca to mini cable and the only thing i had to do what shut off the mic boost and mute the Mic Channel. I have my mixer at about 0 (which is right before it can...

extremely bad crackling problem
I've been recording with audacity a lot and have done it for a while, but all of a sudden I am having a major issue. I am using The Beta version (unstable) on a Compaq presario r3000 running windows XP. I use a behringer Eurorack Ub2442fx mixer and use the Tape out as my source of audio (straight in...

Re: Exported recording volume issues
if you use windows media player or Itunes they have an effect that is supposed to make your music sound more like surround sound from stereo speakers, that effect will cause it to have odd volume dips and jumps. I have no clue why they even have it, its more like a make-your-music-sound-like-crap-ef...

Re: How to clean up amateur demos?
I've found the best way to make old mono recording better is to make it stereo. have the track in two mono channels, one to the left, one to the right. change the eq on each of them a bit, make sure they are quite different, and add a bit of delay ( very small) to one or both channels. your best bet...
