Re: CD Sounds Fine on DVD Player, Not CD Player
Thanks, guys! Yes, I know about selecting "Audio project" in Brasero. My problem may be solved. I read about the de-click function of Audacity and used it to create a new .aup from the existing .aup. I also found Xfburn, an XFCE app, and used it to burn a new CD, which works fine in the boombox. So ...

Re: CD Sounds Fine on DVD Player, Not CD Player
Thanks for the suggestion, Steve, but I think I found the problem. For an audio CD, Brasero is supposed to convert the WAV to CDA, as I understand it. I opened the CD, and the file is a WAV! I don't know whether this is a Brasero bug, or just ignorance on my part. I'd try K3B, but I don't want to in...

Re: CD Sounds Fine on DVD Player, Not CD Player
Since posting the above, I've tried the same CD in a car CD player. It was not even able to identify playable tracks. Sure seems strange that the DVD player could play it and not the two CD players.
Maybe there's a forum for the Brasero disk burner that I used.

CD Sounds Fine on DVD Player, Not CD Player
This seems like a very newbie question, but then I am a newbie at burning LPs to CDs. My first attempt is with Audacity 1.3.9 in Ubuntu Karmic and burning the audio CD with Brasero. The resulting CD sounds fine on the DVD player of our main entertainment center, but on my wife's boombox, it is extre...

Re: Recommended Amplify Settings for Audio CDs?
Thanks for the help, Steve! There are, of course, clicks and pops, so the question is whether any are bad enough to be a problem. Should the amplification amount be observable in the graph?

Recommended Amplify Settings for Audio CDs?
I'm using Audacity 1.3.9 in Ubuntu Karmic to copy some LPs to CDs. I followed the wiki and now am almost ready to export my first file to WAV for burning. The wiki says: Step 3 - Maximize the volume of the recording If you did the original recording properly and avoided clipping, the recording is pr...
