Re: Extra Sound While Recording
What I did was this: I opened the song in Audacity, played it and watched where the noise was at, then I carefully deleted the noise. It amounted to much less than a second. I thought I could copy the original noise to make and delete a copy of it but now I get only an indistinguishable bit of noise...

Extra Sound While Recording
I have a song that when I was recording it I plugged in my printer and it made a Device Connect sound. I found the very sound in Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices. Is there any way I can delete that sound from the song?
Thanks,
John B.

Re: AUP and DATA - Save or delete?
I downloaded it and it will be helpful when I start in on cd's and vinyl albums. Good reading at wikipedia.steve wrote: There's a free open source tool that's specifically designed to do this without causing additional damage: http://mp3splt.sourceforge.net/mp3splt_page/home.php

Re: AUP and DATA - Save or delete?
gargly, bubbly, honky damage Sometimes I need to delete one or two seconds of a mp3 or add a couple of seconds at the start. If I copy a mp3 over and over again will it become corrupt? I have a folder of mp3's that I add to and when I get thirty or forty extras I send them through MP3Gain and make ...

Re: AUP and DATA - Save or delete?
What I do NOT do is delete the original raw data. What is the original raw data if it isn't .aup and .data? When I record a song I cannot save as .wav because I only have .aup as a choice so I save as .aup and then Export to .wav and .mp3. Anyway, it's working for me and I have about 350 mp3's on a...

Re: AUP and DATA - Save or delete?
When I SAVE PROJECT I immediately Export to .wav and .mp3 and then delete .data but for some reason I kept .aup but now I think I'll delete the .aup's because I can edit the .wav's and .mp3's without it. Thanks for reassuring me.

AUP and DATA - Save or delete?
When I download songs I export to .wav and .mp3 and I save the .aup but I delete the .data. Must I keep the .aup and .data files?

Re: Not Recording
Good news! Since my Logitech S-150 speakers are unable to work with recording I took them out and reinstalled my old, $3.00 swap meet speakers and they work just fine after all and with Audacity as well. I thought the old speakers were dead because I tried them on another computer and I didn't think...

Re: Not Recording
It recorded YouTube this morning. I couldn't hear it while it was recording and when I could hear the YouTube then Audacity would not record again. The devices are Host: MME Creative SB Live. I need to set Playback to USB Audio to listen to the playback but I can't hear while recording. If I can lis...

Re: Not Recording
I deleted two or three things in the Registry with "1.2" but still no change. I'm toying with the idea of doing a XP Repair and maybe there is something damaged somewhere that can be fixed. I'm trying to find things in the forum to try.
