Re: Not the program I need?

Audacity 1.3.11 has "Effect > Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift". Would this do what you want? -- Bill Yesss! It is there! Strange how one can overlook the obvious. I guess the use of the term Time Scale has to take the blame for overlooking this. The function even seems more advanced then in Mixx or ...

Re: Not the program I need?

The program is Mixmeister, yes, a commercial program. I haven't checked it out for some years, but I did now, and it has a Mac version! (The world moves forward.... ;) ) it has some similarities with mix, but has a version that can save projects(mixes). On the trial version I managed to make a gradu...

Re: Not the program I need?

No, Mixxx wasn't the answer! This seems to me to be a real-time device, that is manipulating music on the spot (naturally since it's a DJ device). No way to save projects (as new/manipulated/mixed songs) for later burning on a CD etc. In that respect Audacity is closer. I cold gradually (manually!) ...

Re: Not the program I need?

Then I'm back to start! Thanks for the tip. Mixx looks like it can help me with manipulating music for spinning and other training. So when I want to manipulate other audio in other ways (make and modify music maybe??) I still have Audacity to turn to! I'll post my experiences with Mixx when and if ...

Re: Not the program I need?

Thank you for still trying! I'm a part time spinning instructor and try to make engaging programs and good training. Therefore I test a lot of music. Other colleges with PCs have a program that rather simply speeds up or slows down the music (the program fetches start BPM, you give end BPM and maybe...

Re: Not the program I need?

Thanks for trying to help :D . First BPM isn't that important, as Koz says, clock, pen and paper do the trick. A bit time consuming if you want to determine the BPM for lets say 800 pieces of music (I've done about that number, going on 900), but that would take time in Audacity also even if it coul...

Not the program I need?

I've tried to change beat in audacity, it works fine if I want to change the beat uniformaly for the whole selection, but can I do accelerations, e-g- start at a beat and increas it (uniformely) to a given beat at the end of the selection. When fading from one audio clip to another, can audacity hel...
