If you have a version of mp3DirectCut earlier than that, then perhaps the glitch is caused by that bug.

What kind of files are you trying to open, and how (precisely) are you doing that?

You can read exact times from the "Selection Toolbar" https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/selection_toolbar.html I can only see "total" volume, not volume of each instrument. Anyway, some parts are too soft, some parts are too aloud. And I can "fix" this using envelope....
