In the past whenever I started Audacity the initial track defaulted at 12 seconds as I remember.
I don't understand what you mean by "the initial track defaulted at 12 seconds".

Re: Trying to convert regular audio in PWM audio

It needs to be a "version 4" plug-in. There were some important changes between versions 3 and 4. The biggest one being that in version 3 and earlier, the selected sound was passed from Audacity to Nyquist as the variable "S". In version 4, the sound is passed from Audacity to Ny...

Re: Why does Audacity freeze?

When I start audacity to recover this project I see a long list of errors on the terminal Those are not actually "errors". On launch, Audacity has to look to see what audio devices are available. Those messages are just a list of devices that are not available on your system. Is there a w...

Re: "Error Importing"

Are you able to shed any light on how this happened? For example, did Audacity crash, or did the computer go to sleep before the project was saved? There has been a lot of work in recent versions to make saving projects more robust. Any information about how data loss like this happens is helpful fo...

Is there any way I can save this file?
Sadly not.

Re: Error Importing

My apologies. It was poor reading on my part. On this forum it is generally best to start a new topic. It's much better for people if there is just one problem being discussed at a time. Ghost Pokemon Video Commentary.aup Unfortunately this file is totally corrupt. Looking at the file in a hex-edit...

Re: Recording

When I push the stop button it restarts in a new tract. You must be using an old version of Audacity. Get the current version from here: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ In the current version, clicking the record button (or pressing the "R" key) will continue the recording on t...

Re: Audacity only accepts '/var/tmp/' for temp files - but there is not enough space on that partition

Personally I rarely use Windows these days (only for testing Audacity), but if it suits you better, you could make a partition specifically for Audacity's temp folder, or just use the workaround that I suggested previously.
