Re: Best Settings for Podcast AND light files?
Your profile indicates you use OSX So it does, or rather"did" (now updated). I do run macOS (high Sierra), but may main machine, which I did these tests on, is Xubuntu 18.04 64-bit. What I find odd is that all of your runs appear contrary to mine. What would explain that? I think my resul...

Re: Best Settings for Podcast AND light files?
It's interesting to note that the operations involving 48kHz sampled input and output files did execute faster. Did you average multiple runs? I tried timing your first command on two duplicate long stereo files. These were my results over 3 runs: File size: 44.1 kHz 55.6 MB 48 kHz 60.5 MB Run 1 44...

Re: Still, 1 bug in Tags for export
make your own Template, set it as default by your own method, then: "add a mp3 and see that the 'set default' is lost when adding a song" Yes, my template is overwritten, but only if the imported file has metadata. This is the expected and documented behaviour. If the imported file has no...

Re: Error Opening Sound Device - Catalina
How do you Whitelist Audacity and its plugins in System Preferences with Catalina? Currently you have to use a workaround, such as launching Audacity from a Terminal window, and then, when prompted, giving permission for the Terminal to access the mic. For more details, see: https://forum.audacityt...

Re: FMPS rating Tag on export for songs without tags too
otherwise i could search the code, copy the code for 'Genre', replace 'Genre' with 'FMPS_RATING', replace the listed genres [ acappela, acid, ect] with 0.0, 0.1 etc, and add this little piece of new code, or if i knew even more, i'll do the stars thing. Then compile my own version of Audacity. Unfo...

Re: Recording Issue
Every so often, the recording just freezes in place. The program itself doesn't freeze, as I am able to stop the recording without a problem, but it simply stops recording what I'm saying. In "Transport menu > Transport options", check that "Sound activated recording" is NOT ena...

OK, then please provide step by step instructions for how to reproduce the issue. Given that there are millions of Audacity users, I'm surprised that this is causing so much trouble for you.aud2019user wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 4:53 pmas i said, "add a mp3 and see that the 'set default' is lost when adding a song"

The "decimal separator" should automatically display as a comma or as dot, according to whichever is native for the language settings.
What language is Audacity set to?
