Re: Feedback: Do NOT add Telemetry

by even considering integrating Telemetry after the users are clearly asking you not to. 1. The proposed feature came before the objections. 2. You are greatly exaggerating the opposition to the use of telemetry. Millions of people chose to send crash reports via telemetry for all manner of applica...

Re: Audacity 3.0.0 not outputting audio to speakers via USB-C hub

Audacity cannot currently ship with ASIO support due to licensing restrictions (ASIO is closed source). When ASIO is running, it grabs exclusive control of the audio device. That prevents non-ASIO apps (such as Audacity) from accessing the device. To use a device with Audacity, you need to ensure th...

Re: Weird thing on Spectral edit Ver 2.3.1

I'm currently working on a BPF for spectral editing. "Band Pass Filter"? It's slow going as the Nyquist/Lisp syntax is not exactly what I would call intuitive. There have been Holy Wars about LISP syntax :D The basics are very easy: Open parentheses Function name (symbol) Arguments (param...

Re: PR #835: Basic telemetry for the Audacity

The users do not want it. I don't think that's an accurate representation without qualification. It is clear that many GitHub users are against that particular pull requests as it stands, but: The pull request in question is a draft, not a final proposal Many responses say that they are not opposed...

None of you are listening to the user concerns on Github,
That is not correct. All of the comments have been read by members of the Audacity team. I spent several hours yesterday doing so, when I could have been helping the Audacity community here on this forum.

So the answer's NO
The answer is "not at present".

The developers are looking at ways to improve the new project format, though I don't know all of the details - it's "work in progress".

Re: Files Saving Strangely

I didn't see but are other people having this issue with the new file saving system? It doesn't seem to be a common problem, though I have occasionally seen large projects becoming unreasonably slow with Audacity 3.x I'm still not sure why this "sometimes" happens, or even why it does not...

Re: Request for Audacity to Open THD+AC3

Is there any way to make Audacity open THD+AC3 files directly? This sort of thing is difficult for open source software as there is a very real risk of falling foul of patent laws. TrueHD is patented by Dolby. Last time I looked, FFmpeg had an experimental, reverse engineered TrueHD codec. I don't ...
