and open the drop down menu for effects to use it, to find it isn't there.
It's in the bottom section of the Effect list, below the dividing line.
In modern versions of Audacity it has been upgraded and renamed as "Vocal Reduction and Isolation".

Re: Feature Request: Equaliser filters - add minimum phase mode

the current linear-phase might introduce audiable ringing temperal artifacts All filters introduce some ringing, though some filters ring more than others. Filter design is a matter of compromise between different characteristics, commonly trading between performance in the frequency domain against...

Re: Ubuntu 18.04.3 USB mic (OSS) has no supported sample rates

OK, so it looks like the first device is your HDMI device, the second device is the on-board sound card, and the third device is your USB mic. The order of these next steps are critical: 1) Close pavucontrol 2) Launch Audacity 3) Set the Recording input to "pulse". 4) Click on the recordin...

Re: Using Audacity to record mixes

Re: Using Audacity to record mixes

but the penny is dropping that it won't, perhaps. You're correct. That cable will not work. To get audio into USB, you need an "analog to digital converter". always pick up any extraneous audio heard during recording as well as the music recorded i.e. me coughing/moving buttons/anything. ...

Re: Using Audacity to record mixes

Output of Pad to laptop is two male RCA phono plugs going to a single male USB type A. This is peculiar. Presumably the RCA plugs carry audio signals. USB does not, can not directly carry audio - it's a "digital data" interface, whereas audio signals are analog. Do you have some kind of c...

Re: Silent Subliminals [solved?]

Could you please explain me what you mean by ''we would still not be able to make any sense of it because it is encoded - it would sound like an raspy whistle and nothing at all like a human voice.' So called "silent subliminals", are generally created through "amplitude modulation&q...

One other problem though is that I have an old version of Audacity
Any reason to not update to the current version? (it's free: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/)
