Re: conversion from mP3/WAV to MIDI

The reason that you can't export audio as MIDI, is because MIDI is not audio. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI

Re: Clipping issue. DJ mixer>Behringer UCA222>Macbook Pro

I'd guess it's on the analog side. I don't think so - at least, not entirely. The initial spike is instantaneous, which would be unusual for analog, and then after one of the spikes is a "jitter" of alternating high/low samples. The "jitter" looks like a digital problem. I'll be...

Re: Piano effect

There is this thing one can press a key on piano and then fast scroll hands toward another one. So you have fast succesion of all keys between first and last. That's normally done as a MIDI effect that generates a series of note commands for a MIDI synthesizer. Audacity does not support MIDI synthe...

As a test, do you have a CD or cassette player that you could connect directly to the inputs of the UCA222?

Re: Poor sound using Zoom H1N as USB mic

I was just trying to avoid constantly reconnecting the mic to the computer to move files. I sometimes use a Zoom H2 as a stand alone portable recorder, then take out the flash memory card and put it into the card reader on my laptop, where I can then copy the recorded files by dragging and dropping...

Re: Change request: Noise Reduction - add feature to BOOST instead of reduction. Heres why

If you select the "Residue" option in Noise Reduction, it will remove everything except for the noise that matches the noise profile. You can then apply the Amplify effect to make the residue louder.

Re: Feature request: labels should move with their audio when time shift or truncating silence

4. as it compresses the silence, the labels should move to stay with the audio they were aligned with when created. There's two ways to do that: 1) Select the audio AND the label track, and then apply Truncate Silence. 2) Use a "Sync-Locked Track Group" (see: https://manual.audacityteam.o...

and I'll try a different emulation software.
Most real-time emulation apps require ASIO. Audacity is not designed for "real-time" processing, it is designed for applying edits and effects after recording.
