Is your voice audible in the recording if your microphone is not plugged in?
I know that sounds like a silly question, but please try it.

Re: Dragging and protecting improvements

This has been discussed many times before, and I think that the main problem is that different users want different things. Some users want to be able to lock the track entirely: If you want to change anything in a track (including track buttons and sliders), then the track has to be unlocked first....

Re: Labels of silences

I can create sound labels I assume that you are doing that with "Sound Finder"? I am not able to do it with silences Doesn't "Silence Finder" do what you want? Trying to guess what problem you are trying to describe: Are you wanting region labels rather than point labels?

Re: recording on a delay, help

The main use of WASAPI with Audacity is with the "loopback" recording device. This is used for recording what is playing on the computer. (details here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html) WASAPI can often be used for recording normal i...

Working fine for me with Firefox and Chrome browsers. Perhaps there was a temporary connection problem.

If you're unclear about the "orphaned bits" dialog showing up,
Yes, that's the part that I can think of no explanation for. If you simply open a project and press play, Audacity doesn't do anything to change either the .aup file or the audio data.

Re: New Feature Request: A "NEVER Change My Device" Setting

If you receive an error message, always read it carefully. An Audacity project is a complex structure and there are countless ways that a project can be damaged - many of them beyond the control of the developers (for example, a while back we saw a number of Audacity users losing projects due to a v...

Note that Garageband does recognize the mono device.
If you mean that Garageband can't record from the headset either, then that would suggest there's a problem with the headset.
Have you tried the headset mic with any other apps? (perhaps Skype)
