Seems like it's time for you to start making your own Nyquist generator plug-ins.

Re: HELP - Oversaved project
If Audacity is still open, use "Undo" (Ctrl + Z) repeatedly until you get back to the first project, then save it with "Save Project As" (and give it a new name).
If Audacity has been closed, then unfortunately the first project is gone and lost forever, unless you have a backup.

Re: Split a FLAC file without re-encoding?
I believe, FLAC is similar to WAV in that it's lossless? That's correct, so as long as you only cut that bit out and then save as FLAC, and "dither" is off, then the exported FLAC file will be bit-perfect (no losses due to re-encoding). Unlike MP3 encoding (which does lose a bit of sound ...

Re: 2.4.0 link
Can I ask for more sound types generation and more control of the sound. Audacity already has a built-in programming language that allows you to build your own sound generators. The language is called "Nyquist": https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/nyquist.html There's some sound generator...

This is a common request, and we have it listed as a requested feature on the Audacity wiki. I'll make a note of your interest.

Re: Help - disastrous recording, but no possibility to redo
The background noise can be reduced a bit using the "Noise Reduction" effect (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/noi ... ction.html)
Use the section from around 6.5 seconds to 8.5 seconds to create the "noise profile".
As a starting point, try settings of 12, 6, 6.

Re: Can't record from cassette. HELP
Those cheap Chinese USB cassette players are bad for Audacity's reputation. Lots of people have problems with them, and because they often include a copy of Audacity (usually an out of date version), people often blame the software (unless they try using other software and get the same problems). Mo...

Re: Replicate or extend a piece of an audio track
a tool that take the last 2-3 notes (for example highlighting them) and replicate them in a short loop That's what you would use the "Repeat" effect for. Of course, for it to sound natural, you will need to ensure that the selection makes sense musically. That usually means making the sel...

Re: Replicate or extend a piece of an audio track
You can do that with the "Repeat" effect: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/repeat.html
