Re: How to keep original date and time of imported files after exporting in Audacity...?
Is there ANY WAY to keep the date created and date modified information from my IMPORTED audio files, AFTER batch exporting them? No. When you export from Audacity, it creates a NEW file (even if you overwrite the original file, you are overwriting it with a new audio file). I make alot of voice me...

To convert to a normal 16-bit WAV file: 1) Import RAW (signed 8-bit) 2) "File menu > Export > Export as WAV" To convert to signed 16-bit RAW file: 1) Import RAW (signed 8-bit) 2) "File menu > Export > Export Audio...", then select "RAW (headerless)" as the "Header&...

Re: video camera light comes on when recording
Had a look at Windows > Settings > Sound and noticed that Stereo Mix Realtek Definition Audio was disabled. I enabled it and selected it in the recording devices option in Audacity. Problem seems to be solved. Are you wanting to record sounds that are playing on your computer, or are you trying to ...

Re: video camera light comes on when recording
As this is a different question, I've split it to a new topic. When I now hit "Record", the blue LED on my video monitor associated with its video camera lights up. What sort of computer are you using? What are you trying to record from? What recording device have you selected in the Devic...

Re: Missing Effect Items
I think you will need to reset Audacity. If you are on 64-bit Windows 10, shut down Audacity then open up: Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\audacity\ in the Windows file browser (File Explorer) and delete the three files: audacity.cfg pluginregistry.cfg pluginsettings.cfg Then restart Audacity. Thos...

Re: Very slow loading of V2.3.3
Audacity may be slow to load if you have a lot of plug-ins installed on the computer, particularly if you have plug-ins that don't work with Audacity.
Audacity may also be slow to load if the computer's sound card drivers are out-of date or buggy drivers.

Re: Timeline playback isn't updating properly.
used to play the audio track and there were this line which follows the playback, but there isn't anymore. There "should" be a "playback cursor" that moves across the waveform during play / record. Testing on Debian, Mint and Ubuntu, this works as expected. We don't create binar...

Re: Version recommendation for PPC Mac 10.4.11
So, what about v2.1.0 Audacity 2.1.0 was for OS X 10.5 or later, but was superseded by Audacity 2.1.1 (also for OS X 10.5 or later). Once again, is it a better choice for my system than v2.0.6? Once again, for OS X 10.4, the recommended version of Audacity is version 2.0.6. For OS X 10.4, the recom...

Plug your headphones into the mixer.
In the Audacity "Transport menu > Transport options", ensure that "Software playthrough" is OFF (not selected).

Re: Why is the Nyquist plug-in SETrms not working?
Note to koz : In your "SETrms.txt.zip" file, the contained "SETrms.txt" file has too much leading white space at the start of each line. This is probably a result of copying from a forum "[ code ]" box. In some situations, the additional spaces may cause the plug-in to...
