Re: HELP HOW TO RECOVER AN AUP PROJECT deleted by accident?

I remember the older version of Audacity, offered the option of "Do you want to recover the previous file?" and it would automatically open it and let me recover it, The current version also has that option, but only if Audacity can find the parts that need to be recovered. In this case i...

Re: Where is Audacity installed?

The official download location is via the links on the Audacity website (we currently use FossHub for our content delivery network). https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ The current version is Audacity 2.3.3. Even on my desktop PC I cannot even browse that folder. Apparently that is normal...

Re: Definition of Q in Audacity's Notch Filter

"q" is the notch filter "quality" factor. The bandwidth of a notch filter is measured at -3dB attenuation (in octaves), and "q" is the inverse of that bandwidth. Thus for a notch that has a q of 4.0, the bandwidth, measured at the -3 dB attenuation point, is 0.25 octave...

Re: Where is Audacity installed?

I'm not a Windows guru (I mostly use Linux), but apparently the folders in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\ are created when installing apps from Microsoft, or from Microsoft Store. Re: Where is Audacity installed?

Do you know what that folder is or how it came to be on your computer? You shouldn't normally use Windows from an Administrator account. Normal use should be with a "standard user account" as that prevents you from accidentally making changes to the system. Yes I would recommend uninstalli...

Re: Where is Audacity installed?

Take a look inside the folder:
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\BluskySoftwareInc.17062EE08491F_2.0.4.0_x86__61yk12x6sxn40

I've no idea how you did that.

Re: Where is Audacity installed?

What happens if you run this code in the Nyquist Prompt (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/nyquist_prompt.html)

Code: Select all

;debugflags trace
(format t "~a" (get '*system-dir* 'base))
""
(copy and paste the three lines to ensure that it is entered correctly)

Re: feature to reorder or remove standard metadata tags

I hope you are aware that the size of the Metadata editor is user-configurable, so you can, for example, extend it downwards with click&drag thus showing a lot more of your custom tags without having to scroll. Sadly Audacity does not remember the size that you set, so the next time you use the...
