Re: Macro command to toggle selection / deselection

Normal Macros are only a list of commands that run in strict sequence from start to end. They don't have "variables", or looping, or logic ... Those kind of "programming" features are provided by Nyquist (built in), or Python (running externally from Audacity). The simplest way t...

Re: lower size of project

Audacity projects are big because the audio data is in very high quality "32-bit float PCM" format. You can create a "compressed copy" of the project, which will be much smaller, but with a little loss of sound quality. Note that if you then do further work on the project, it wil...

Re: Macro command to toggle selection / deselection

Personally, if I'm doing fine editing of a track to clean up glitches, with the aim of achieving a high quality product, I edit it manually. I don't fully understand what you are trying to do with macros - the macro does not know if your audio has an accidental noise that shouldn't be there. :? Neve...

Re: Macro command to toggle selection / deselection

Rather than running the macro on a 2 track project, couldn't you simply export the track as a WAV file, then apply the macro on the one track, then import your duplicate track (the WAV file) back into the project?

Surely, there is a Macro command to facilitate this simple toggle feature?
Why do you need a macro feature when it can be done so easily with "Enter"?

Re: Macro command to toggle selection / deselection

the ability to deselect the current selection, move focus to an adjacent track, then select the SAME segment of that newly focused track. There's a ridiculously simple way to do that (simple when you know ;)) Press "Enter" to toggle the selection "off" in the current track. Pres...

I swear I used to be able to save track heights with project
You could, but there's a bug in Audacity 2.3.3. It has been fixed for the next release (Audacity 2.4.0 is scheduled for release around April).

Re: Mac OS Build Issues on OSX EI Cpitan 10.11.6

Xcode is very fussy about version numbers. The Audacity developers try to retain support for older versions of macOS for as long as possible. This requires using the exactly correct SDK version, in a version of xcode that will work with that SDK. Using the wrong version of xcode, or the wrong SDK wi...

Re: HELP HOW TO RECOVER AN AUP PROJECT deleted by accident?

Can you let me know, if it was not compressed in the right way?? It's absolutely fine. Well done :) And good news, your project can be recovered. The problem is with the "Cris_data" folder. What you should have, is a file / folder structure like this: Cris.aup (file) Cris_data > e08 > > d...

I opened a file in text form and it doesn't look good. Just a few lines of text containing a load of question marks.
That definitely sounds like it has been encrypted.

I don't think this will help, but here's the website for the decryptor: https://www.emsisoft.com/ransomware-decryption-tools/
