Re: MAC OS CATALINA

Any time I tried to export as .mp3 or .wav, I'd get a warning message saying that other programs may not be able to open/read the saved file. That happens if you enter a file name that has a dot "." in it. If you have a dot in the file name, then you MUST include the file extension (such ...

I have the same issue,
You don't. You have a problem with your headphones - that has nothing to do with MIDI.

How are your headphones connected to the computer?

Re: My Computer Battery Died and I am Trying to recover the Audio File I was working on

The message says audacity did not recognize the file type That probably means that the ".aup" file is trash. try installing ffmpeg? Ignore that - That error message assumes that you are trying to open an audio file that it can't understand, when actually you are trying to open a corrupt p...

I mixed the pseudo-stereo version (adjust to taste) with the mono,
otherwise there is a "hole" in the centre of the stereo-image.
Alternatively, you can reduce the "Effect mix (%)" setting.

Re: Audacity problem

When the pop-up appears that says "Select stream(s) to import", you need to select the streams that you want to import. You didn't select any.

Is it possible to trigger a recording of about 2 min right from the command line?
Something like:

Code: Select all

arecord -f cd -d 120 out.wav
(see: https://linux.die.net/man/1/arecord)

or to use PulseAudio, use parec or parecord (see: https://manpages.debian.org/testing/pul ... .1.en.html)

Re: Post-triggered recording

I need to record events (ideally with a timestamp) that happen randomly and I am only able to detect it even once it has happened. The given solution should be able to automatically record approximately 1 min. before the threshold and a programmable time after it. Audacity is not suitable for that....

Re: Complete tutorial on meeting ACX Specs Live

for free... The web page says that it is free for the next 20 hours only, and then it will cost 24.99. Is this just a "promotional offer"? Also, it requires a "Udemy" account. If you really want it to be free for Audacity users, why not upload it somewhere where it can be downlo...

Re: Removing crackling noise on one channel

Here's a short section of the file that shows the problem: zfje3l.wav I downloaded a concert recording I assume that this is a pirate / bootleg recording? It looks to me like the problem is in the original file that you downloaded. The interference is in the left channel only. The waveform suggests ...
