Re: ***BUG*** on stderr and recording not working

If I then launch Audacity there are 54 microphone input devices listed (!) but there is no " HyperX Virtual Surround Sound Analog Stereo" device. If pavucontrol is open, then HyperX will not be available as a "hw" device, because PulseAudio has exclusive access to it. "Head...

Re: Install Audacity to a different drive

Sure. Just run the installer, and select the location that you want during the installation.
However, as you appear to be a novice Windows user, I would highly recommend installing in the default location so as to avoid future problems that you may struggle to resolve.

Re: ***BUG*** on stderr and recording not working

In the "Configuration" tab of pavucontrol, disable all devices except for the HyperX (the last option in each list is "off"). For the "HyperX" set the option to "Analog Stereo Duplex". Then restart the computer. Open pavucontrol again (Audacity NOT running). G...

Should I reinstall ALSA
Probably not. Attempting to do so is more likely to break things than fix things.

Do you have pavucontrol installed?
If so, with your USB headphones plugged in, go to the "Input devices" tab and see what devices are available.

How to record your speech at Audacity in the range from 14 to 20 Hz?
Unless you are a whale, you don't. Human speech is typically in the range 150 to 8000 Hz (mostly in the range 300 to 5000 Hz).

Re: ***BUG*** on stderr and recording not working

The bug in pixman is probably triggered by GTK3. That bug affects multiple apps, not just Audacity. The problem does not appear to happen if Audacity is built with GTK2. It is probably not fatal for Audacity. ALSA warning on startup are normal because Audacity is querying the sound system to see wha...

Re: Error Code -9996 Invalid Device.

WASAPI works like a pipe for audio data. What comes out of the pipe has to match what goes into the pipe, so if you have 6 channels at 48000 Hz sample rate going in, then you need to capture 6 channels at 48000 Hz at the other end of the pipe. If you only want to record 2 channels, you could try con...

Re: Change tempo orchestral quality ruined and drums clean

1) I am trying to change the tempo on a piece of the track, but the quality plummets - either I hit the high quality option or not. The track is already a full orchestra with a choir, so any more “arena” sound just makes it insufferable! What can I do to maintain quality? Small changes in tempo usu...

Re: Converting old 2.2.2 chains to 2.3.3 macros

The upgrade from Chains to Macros introduced a lot more features, but unfortunately could not entirely retain backward compatibility. (We do try to be backward compatible as far as possible, but on this occasion full compatibility was not possible. Chains (and Macros) are stored as text files, and y...

the first two channels appear as a stereo pair,
Are the first two channels not "front left" and "front right"?
