Re: RECORDING USING 2.3.3 AND WINDOWS 10

I am having the exact same problem When people say that, 9 times out of 10 the symptoms are similar but the actual problem is something quite different. So as to not go off in the wrong direction for dickeverard, I shall ignore your post and wait for dickeverard's reply. If you really do have "...

Re: recording slowing down

How much is it slowing down?

Does the pitch also change?

Does the problem happen if you record directly from a microphone without the iRig?

How is the iRig connected to your computer?

Why are you using WASAPI?

Re: Listen to one track, while recording a second just by itself?

IT ALWAYS OVERDUBS. We need to speak the same language. What exactly do you mean? Do you mean that the original track is being mixed in on the same track as the new recording? If so, then that's probably just a wrong setting, but I don't want to make too many suggestions in case that is not what yo...

Re: WASAPI Issues - recording what I actually hear (Software Amp)

tl;dr: is it actually possible to record the sound on my computer as I hear it from my headphones out in audacity when using a software guitar amp? Probably not with Audacity. Is it actually possible to capture the sound as I'm hearing it on my headphone out with audacity? If not, is there an easy ...

Not an overdubbed track.
As Audacity is a multi-track audio editor, "overdub" just means to record another track into a project that already has one or more tracks.
"Overdub" does not affect other tracks in the project.
"Overdub" is what you want.

Re: on Launch: "Audacity is already running"

There's probably a "lock file" left over from a previous session.
See this post for how to delete it: viewtopic.php?p=378110#p378110

Re: Measuring RMS: Problem with Noise Gate on 16-bit track

I disable dither and now Noise Gate works properly on 16-bit track. Yay! Please note that even with dither turned off, using 16-bit tracks will needlessly reduce the sound quality. Turning dither off is NOT recommended when processing audio. The recommended (professional) way would be to convert th...

Re: Add "excitement" to audio

Like many VST plug-in effects in Audacity, how it sounds the real-time preview is not how it sounds when applied. If that really is the case, then it should be logged as a bug. Note that Trebor wrote that two years ago. If it is a bug, and if it still exists, then it is extraordinary that no-one ha...
