The next version of Audacity has a "current time" display that may be positioned separately from the main Audacity window, and resized up to about double size.

There's a trade off between quality and effort. For "professional" quality, you have to take the time and effort to set up correctly every time, and the rule of thumb is "10 hours editing per 1 hour of audio" (can be a bit less or much more). Here's an effect " LevelSpeech2....

I’m changing the Scarlett’s settings through the Focusrite settings window, which I can access in the bottom right of my desktop, where active computer processes can be found (next to the computers clock) Because Audacity uses Windows audio drivers, the sample rate also needs to match in the Window...

It is much easier and safer to transfer audio files (WAV, Flac, MP3,...) than Audacity Projects. Can you hear the input if you plug your headphones into the UMC202HD?
