Re: Audio recording monitoring sound level problem

To avoid the monitoring delay, plug your headphones into the audio interface.

Re: Mono tracks when importing multichannels

Is it a way to force Audacity to use ONLY mono tracks? Currently no, though it is logged on the Audacity issue tracker as an enhancement. The downside of this enhancement is that most multi-channel formats have FL / FR as the first two channels, which is a tangible benefit for people working with m...

Re: Plan Lights ShowXpress

so my question was if we can create scenes and diferent plan lights in ShowXpress and create a midi file in Audacity... Audacity cannot "create" MIDI. It has no ability to record MIDI and only very limited MIDI editing. Virtually all of Audacity's MIDI abilities are described on one page ...

Re: 2.3.3 plug-in references that won't go away.

The plug-in references are saved in the "pluginregistry.cfg" file.
That file is in the same location as Audacity's other config files:
  • Windows: Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\audacity\
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/
  • Linux: ~/.audacity-data/

HALLELUJAH!!! Indeed :D Also just for what it's worth, I never changed these settings myself... it must have happened automatically as a glitch. My guess would be that a Windows update "reset" it. Whatever triggered it, glad you found and fixed the issue. I'll close this topic as "So...

I export a 3hr video from movavi, save as a 500mb wav
CD quality WAV files are about 10.586 MB per minute, so a 500 MB WAV file at CD quality will be approximately 47 minutes duration.

Re: Nyquist plugin broken - need help debugging

Hmm .. in other words: you can only have a single message box output from a script - am I right? Yes. Running Nyquist in Audacity will return one printable message, or labels, or sound. There is always only one "return value". Wouldn't this mean that all "format nil" statements ...

Re: Converting negative dB to positive

but am still confused as to how to convert them to positive values Basically, you don't. You need to use a calibrated "Sound Pressure" meter. The best that you can do with a recording is to say that one signal is xx dB high or lower than another signal. Unless you have a reference level i...
