Re: Hi and Low Pass Filters to reach ACX -60dB level

It appears the hi-pass/low-pass filters do NOT work "DURING the recording" process ... Instead, they i work when applied to the tracks "after" recording. Is that correct, Yes, that's correct. I measure your room tone as close to -60 dB, and it can easily be brought lower by appl...

Re: About: Change Pitch

I don't understand what problem you are trying to describe.

Perhaps the manual can explain: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/change_pitch.html

This would let most users lock that box and never have problems
Which "box" (or boxes) do you want to lock?
How do you protect the lock from being accidentally operated?

Re: Non-destructive editing?

Is the a way to make Audacity work in a destructive way and directly edit a audio sample ? I am aware that this is dangerous for some It is not possible to directly edit an audio file with Audacity. Audacity copies the audio data from imported audio files as "blockfiles", which are genera...

Re: About: Change Pitch

I want to change from 2004.545 to 1975, but it won't go. It works for me, though the change is small (less than 1.5%) so the effect is subtle. After entering the numbers, check that the "Percent Change" says "-1.474". It even suggests a change to 1974.998 What exactly does it say?

Re: faster spectrogram browsing for long files

i think it would work faster if the spectrogram sections are cached. Audacity already does some caching. You can see this when using the "|<" and ">|" buttons (skip to start / end). The size of the cache is limited to avoid excessive RAM usage and avoid expensive cache bookkeepi...

The help page says 'Host' should read 'CoreMIDI'
Yes it will show "CoreMIDI" if CoreMIDI is available. If it says "No MIDI interfaces", then that means that CoreMIDI is not available.

Re: I get a "flatline" when I record on Audacity

Which version of Audacity?
Which version of Windows?
What are you trying to record?
What equipment are you using?
What have you done so far to solve the problem?
