How exactly did you put Audacity onto the USB stick?

Re: Appearance UI design

While I quite like Audacity's "retro" look (I passionately dislike the ubiquitous fashion for dark grey), I can see why many find it ugly ;) Audacity is built using WxWidgets, which is a toolkit that allows Audacity to run on multiple platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux). The clear open sour...

Re: ripping vinyl at 24bit 96Khz with Audacity

By default Audacity will dither when you export, but you can turn it off. Not really relevant for 24-bit because the dither level is so low (about -130 dB, or to put it another way, about 100 times lower than the quietest sound that can be produce in CD format). Plus, vinyl noise is much greater th...

Never mind i'll have to put up with MP3.
Maybe there are better options. Why did you want to use WMA?

Re: Macro - flac to WMA

Audacity does not directly support WMA, but uses a third party application (FFmpeg) for WMA support.
Exporting using FFmpeg is not currently supported by macros.

Re: Clipping

Anyway, Audacity is using a cube to represent a sphere? In this context, "cubic" just means that it is using an equation to represent the waveform where the equation is in the form: f(x) = ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d "x^3" means a value "x" multiplied by itself twice, for exa...

Re: My audio process for ACX

Thanks for your comprehensive description.
I'll tag it as "sticky" (stick to the top of the list) as I expect that other audiobook producers will find it useful.

Re: Can't open amp.3 files with version 3.0.2

Did you create the projects in Audacity 3.0.2, or did you create them in an earlier version and then update Audacity?

Re: Unusually large aup3

If the original project was on your A drive, then another thing that you could try:

Move or copy the project to your C:\ drive, then open the project (on the C:\ drive) and:
- Reverse the first track
- Undo
- Save
- Exit

Here is a screenshot
That's not a crash.
That just shows that the project that Audacity tried to recover does not contain any audio data. You should discard that project because there is nothing that can be recovered from it.
