If you open a new, empty Audacity window and "Import" (File menu) the file that you exported:
1) Do you see the waveform in Audacity?
2) Can you hear the track when you click the Play button?

When I open a file and click Play, the playback starts but the cursor does not move.

Do you see the cursor with a green triangle above it when you start playback?

How long is the project?
Is it a single stereo recording, or a multi-track project?
What is the full filename that you are using when exporting?
Have you tried exporting as WAV?
