Re: Help with this Spectrograph
Problem is, the lines seem to run the entire spectrum vertically, like bars. You can see that in the image. So how do I remove this in Audacity? When noise is spread vertically like that, it is called "broadband noise". It's virtually impossible to fix it (in any software). You may have s...

Re: Recording virtual podcast
Hey guys, been recording a podcast for over a year now; and since this quarantine, I want to venture into virtual, or over the phone podcasting. I know Skype is an option but the general consensus is that it’s poor quality. I’m looking for an alternative, assuming the interviewee has access to a ph...

Re: Bandpass filter
Hello. I have another questions. I am blind and It is problem for me to draw a curve using this effect. So, how to band pass It? Thank You. If 20 dB attenuation in the stop band is sufficient, then you could use the "Graphic EQ" effect (in Audacity 2.3.3). The Graphic EQ should be accessi...

Re: Finding timeshift via maximum correlation between two tracks
Where would be the right place to ask this question? This board is the right place, but I doubt that such a plug-in exists, and I don't expect to see anyone volunteering to make one. I'm trying to get two tracks from the same source to be exactly phase matched so I can subtract one from the other. ...
Re: workflow
"Ctrl + F" will zoom out so that you can see the entire length of the track. It is then much quicker to drag across the track. However, there are even quicker ways, such as "Ctrl + A" to "Select All". There are many convenient "tips" for selecting audio. See: ...

That message says that your computer is trying to shut down. Perhaps a macOS triggered it if you didn't.audacity anon wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 12:28 pmfor "Audacity" to quit and continue the shutdown, click Continue.

Re: Bug report - default microphone in Preferences ignored
I doubt that can be fixed. My USB microphone is not always plugged in, for example, when I am doing production at some later time in another room. If at that point you look at the Device Preferences, you will notice that the USB mic is not listed as an option, so some other device (the built in mic)...

Re: Status of Opus support?
For what it's worth, we are now a lot closer to supporting Opus than previously, as libsndfile has been updated in Audacity 2.4.0 alpha. In Audacity 2.4.0 (alpha): Opus files can be imported into Audacity. Opus export " may " be possible by selecting "Export Audio > Custom FFmpeg Expo...
