Re: Audacity in QjackCtl: Why are PortAudio capture ports incremented with each reconnect?
I guess you meant defining a plugin in ~/.asoundrc or /etc/asoundrc.conf? Nothing so complicated ;) I just meant installing any Jack application that allows you to have it's inputs connected directly to it's outputs without modifying the audio data. In my example I used "Jack Mixer" (http...

Re: How to record a three and a half minute song
Which version of Audacity? The play back only plays about half of what I recorded and then starts from the beginning just repeating the first half. How are you starting playback? Are you clicking on the "Play" button? (Note that "Shift + Play button" will "loop play")

Which version of Audacity are you using?
As a test, please try recording using your computer's built in sound card for both recording and playback. Does the problem still occur?

Re: X64
Hi Victor. 64-bit builds for Windows are currently being tested. I mostly use Linux, so I've not been following this closely, but I'm under the impression that 64-bit Windows builds are likely to become available in the release after next. There are not many benefits from 64-bit builds, other than s...

Re: Hardware/Software Playthrough issue with Blue Yeti USB Mic
Zero latency monitoring should be independent of any software. So long as the mic is powered on, you should be able to hear yourself via the mic's headphone jack. "Software Playthrough" in Audacity should be "off" (not selected). "Overdub" in Audacity should be "on...

Re: Audacity's export with LAME is considerably different than other tools. Why?
One difference with Audacity, is that Audacity is downsampling from 32-bit float (Audacity works internally in 32-bit float). When Audacity first started using LAME, floating point PCM input either didn't work, or was buggy (I don't recall the exact details, though I do recall that the problem affec...
