Re: Audacity recording randomly stops / freezes

Check the "power saving" settings on the computer, and ensure that everything is set to "always on". Then try another test recording.

Re: Audacity's export with LAME is considerably different than other tools. Why?

Yes, that looks like "dither" noise. Don't worry about it - the "damage" is insignificant compared to the unavoidable damage caused by MP3 encoding.
Strictly speaking, I don't think it should happen, so I have logged it on the Audacity bug tracker.

Is the Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ compatible with both Ubuntu and Audacity?
We hear from plenty of Audacity users that successfully use the AT2020USB with Audacity.
I'm on Linux but I don't have an AT2020USB, but a 1 minute Google search says that people are successfully using this device on Linux.

Re: How to record a three and a half minute song

I would recommend you stick with the 2.2.1 version. "Flathub" provides "Flatpak" builds (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatpak). Because Flatpak apps run in a "sandbox" environment, this can cause problems if you try to access external resources. Such problems can be co...

Re: CALF not working anymore

Have you tested with Ardour? If the problem exists there too, then the problem is most likely to be due to a build fault in the Debian package, in which case it should be reported to Debian.

Re: "Filter Curve" effect error window.

Thanks for confirming. You have discovered a bug.
It looks like it should be an easy fix, so hopefully we will be able to fix it for the next Audacity release.

Re: Newbie - How do I record my USB Headset

Not a dumb question, it's a limitation of Windows. The Windows sound system makes it near impossible to record both sides of an on-line conversation. The best solution is to use software that can bypass the sound system and hack into the data. For example, for recording both sides of a Skype call th...

Re: bug - Recording starts from end of other track

This is not a bug. The behaviour's of clicking the Record button and "Shift + Record" were swapped a couple of versions ago because most users just want to continue recording to the same track. In current versions of Audacity, the Record button (or the "R" key) will record to the...
