Distortion is usually due to the signal level being too high somewhere.
Ensure that the meters on the Behringer vmx300 do not go into the red, and set the recording level so that there is some clear space between the waveform and the top / bottom of the track.

Re: Audacity 2.2.1 Variable Latency Problem
What settings are you using in the "Device Toolbar"? (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html) Have you tried recording at 48000 Hz instead of 44100? If not, try that (you will need to rerun the latency compensation setup). Note that any changes to the recording setup can c...

Re: Audacity recording randomly stops / freezes
Please check the actual version number (look in "Help menu > About Audacity").smdaudacity wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 3:57 pmMost up to date version, I downloaded audacity like a week ago.
Where did you download it from?
Did you install it to your C:\ drive?

Re: Input/Output settings
I don't think I can offer any more help. As far as I'm aware, both Snow Leopard and SoundFlower are obsolete and unsupported. The set-up that I've described is, as far as I'm aware, the correct set-up for that software.

Re: Adding Track Positions (to skip to next track)
If you are making an audio CD, you need to split the track into separate songs (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks.html) and then use your CD burning software to compile the songs into the correct order. If you are referring to the "Graphic EQ" or "Filter Curve" effects, you can click on the "Manage" button and save the settings as a custom "Preset".

Re: Audacity 2.2.1 Variable Latency Problem
Hi Steve the problem is when i try to record long tracks ( > 8/10 seconds) they are out of time with other tracks . Are the tracks gradually drifting out of sync, or are they out of sync by a consistent amount throughout the track? How much out time are we looking at? A couple of milliseconds? Seve...

Re: Rendering issue on track list
Are you using Wayland? If so, then as a test, try logging into an Xorg session.
