Re: using audactiy for group recording in this time of lockdown

I have a friend who is drummer and who has done some studio work, suggests that we: (1) Start with a click track. (2) Record the entire drum part from beginning to end, just counting every chorus, etc. (3) Then add the other tracks. That's a reasonable suggestion, but that's not what you have done....

Re: Digi Tech GNX3000 can't overdub

I've split your post from the other topic as it appears to be a slightly different issue. Your image shows the recording and playback device to be a Digi Tech GNX3000. Is that this: https://www.digitech.com/discontinued-products/GNX3000-.html Are your headphones plugged into the Digi Tech GNX3000? I...

Re: the open /Applications/Audacity.app/Contents/MacOS/Audacity trick does not work

It looks like your version of Audacity may be too old. Download Audacity 2.3.3 via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ Follow the installation instructions from that page. When you are prompted, select the option to "replace" the older version. Then try running...

JoeMac, where do I need to go in Windows 10 to find Microphone Properties?
I rarely use Windows, but perhaps this will help: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/win ... trols.html

For the "Change Tempo" effect I've also checked the option for a higher quality.
Ensure that you also test with that option turned off. Sometimes the sound can be better with "high quality" turned off (it depends on the audio).

Re: Recovering Lost Part of Track

Re: corrupted file

Which version of Audacity? (Look in "Audacity menu > About Audacity") Which version of macOS? when it recovered all my audio was flat lines. Unfortunately that probably means that the project is destroyed and unrecoverable. I think our main concern now should be at preventing the problem f...
