What equipment are you using?
What settings are you using the the Device Toolbar (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html)
How loud is the squealing, and when does it happen?

Ensure that the Scarlett is plugged in and working before you start Audacity, then select the Scarlett (probably listed as "USB") as the recording device in the Device Toolbar (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html)

If you are using Wayland, try logging out and then log back in to an Xorg session. Audacity does not yet fully support Wayland.

Mute the recorded track. Record the new track (Shift + R) Use the Time Shift Tool (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/time_shift_tool.html) to slide the first track to the right so that it starts after the second track. Ensure that in the Windows Sound settings, that the recording device and playback device have the same sample rate.
