Re: High pitched squealing when trying to record to PC

There are many possible reasons for squealing noise.

What equipment are you using?
What settings are you using the the Device Toolbar (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html)

How loud is the squealing, and when does it happen?

Re: Behringer Air x18 to connect to Audacity but no signal

The lack of response to your post is probably because none of the regular forum contributors have a Behringer x18.

Re: interface

Ensure that the Scarlett is plugged in and working before you start Audacity, then select the Scarlett (probably listed as "USB") as the recording device in the Device Toolbar (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html)

Re: New album composed in Audacity

Well recorded. You've certainly hit the "retrowave" genre.
How did you record your synths? Any tips for getting synths to sit well in a mix with vocals?

Re: Overdubbing recording backing track

Topic moved to Windows forum. The current version of Audacity is 2.3.3 and is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ as well as picking up my voice it's also picking up the backing 'track' and thus recording that into the second track as well. Are you usin...

If you are using Wayland, try logging out and then log back in to an Xorg session. Audacity does not yet fully support Wayland.

Re: Adding new audio to beginning of existing project

Mute the recorded track. Record the new track (Shift + R) Use the Time Shift Tool (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/time_shift_tool.html) to slide the first track to the right so that it starts after the second track. Note that when you export, the two tracks will be mixed down into a single cont...
