There are many possible reasons for squealing noise.

What equipment are you using?
What settings are you using the the Device Toolbar (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html)

How loud is the squealing, and when does it happen?

The lack of response to your post is probably because none of the regular forum contributors have a Behringer x18.

Which physical inputs are you using in the x18?

Ensure that the Scarlett is plugged in and working before you start Audacity, then select the Scarlett (probably listed as "USB") as the recording device in the Device Toolbar (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html)

How did you record your synths? Any tips for getting synths to sit well in a mix with vocals?

If you are using Wayland, try logging out and then log back in to an Xorg session. Audacity does not yet fully support Wayland.

Ensure that in the Windows Sound settings, that the recording device and playback device have the same sample rate.
