Topic split. On Audacity 2.3.3 I have selected the 'USB PnP Audio Device' from the dropdown menu. So on your machine, Audacity does see the USB cassette player, but doesn't get any sound from it. I make the selection and all it does is play the selection.

To make the selection, click and drag on the actual audio waveform, not on the time ruler.

Perhaps you could share some tips about recording with Audacity.

Depending on which web browser you are using, perhaps you can do something like: "Right click -> Save As..."

Cancel the effect to close the effect window, then make a selection, then open the effect again.

If you know the length of the selection (look in the Selection Toolbar) you can reproduce that length in a different track in a different place.

To make a loop "smooth", the start and end need to match up, like in this sample. If you load this into Audacity and apply the "Repeat" effect, you should find that it plays without stuttering. ACTUAL-loop.wav There are some tips for making loops here: https://manual.audacityteam...
