Re: Audacity not recognizing things it should recognize
It's more usual to install the system on the M2 drive so as to maximise the speed of boot up, launching and running applications. Putting your home directory in a different partition or different disk has the major benefit of making upgrading simpler and safer. If you put your home directory on the ...

Did you get Audacity via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/
Are you sure that your version of Mojave is 10.14.3?

Re: Windows XP latest supported version - 2.1.3 or 2.2.2?
Audacity 2.1.3 is the latest version officially supported for Windows XP. Yes. That was the release when we officially stopped supporting XP. That was the final version that was tested on XP prior to release. We didn't do anything to deliberately prevent later versions of Audacity from running on X...

Re: Editing Audio in a multitrack project
The latest version is 2.3.3 (you can check the version number by looking in "Help menu > About Audacity". A new version is due to be released next month - definitely worth getting the update when it becomes available. assumed that the controls would be the same or similar. They are pretty ...

Re: Audacity for multiple computer?
This is quite an interesting question. The problem is not Audacity, the problem is managing the data. Audacity projects are typically large, with thousands of data files. To work reliably over a network, the data would need to verified and any errors corrected. While it is acceptable for some types ...

Re: Audacity not recognizing things it should recognize
So, the SATA is one big partition, and the M.2 is another partition. Probably not. By default Ubuntu installs to an ext4 partition and also creates a swap partition. On modern hardware there is usually also a separate /boot/efi partition. Is your SATA drive a SSD or spinning disk hdd? How big are t...

Re: repeated crashing
Any advice? Don't open projects directly from dropbox. If you have a project on dropbox, copy it to a normal folder first, and verify the integrity of the project. Having checked that the copied project is complete and has no corruption, then open it. There are several ways to verify the integrity ...

Re: "Duck" or "FadeOut-FadeIn" Feature?
A helpful tool would be, that we can mark a selection of (lets say) 1000msec on a track. Now the tool will decrease volume to -20dB in the first 250msec, then hold volume on that level for 500msec, then rise it up to level before in the last 250msec... It sounds like you need the "Envelope Too...

Thanks Koz. I suspected it would be more involved than simply editing one post.

Re: recording vinyl through audacity
so the UFO202 would only be good for the vinyl specific then? It could also be used for recording from a cassette player, a CD player, a mixing desk... It cannot be used (directly) for recording a microphone - you would need a microphone pre-amp, or a USB device that has a microphone pre-amp built ...
