I cant find amplify
Click on the "Effect" menu. By default in Audacity 2.3.3, Audacity is the first effect (below "Repeat Last Effect").

Can it normalize stereo channels independently?
Split the track, apply the effect, then join the channels back into a stereo track (See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/spl ... racks.html)

Re: Unable to open Audacity Project Files

My guess is that the .AUP file is corrupt in some way.
If you attach the .AUP file to your reply, I'll take a look to see if there is any obvious damage.
(See here for how to attach files: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936)

Re: good quality files are low quaility/have clicking poping when exported

when its exported its now a very low quality with popping occurring frequently. What are you playing the exported file with? its the same quality as it is open in audacity as it is exported, both are mono, 44100hz 32 bit float, im exporting as a 32 bit wav file. The original file is probably not 32...

Re: focusrite 4i4

That sounds about right for class compliant mode.

Your options if you need the additional features are:
  • Use Windows
  • Search the Internet and find someone that has hacked drivers to support the advanced features on Linux.

but the rest is not working
What is "the rest" that you are referring to?
Under "class compliant" mode you should be able to get 2 in / 2 out.

Re: Recording Zoom call

Can you think of a reason why the Zoom audio isn't recording directly into Audacity? The problem with recording any kind of conferencing software with Audacity is that there are two different "things" that have to be recorded. There is the sound going into your mic (your voice), and sound...

Re: focusrite 4i4

Any ideas how I can get the focusrite 4i4 3rd gen up and running under ubuntu audacity. How far have you got ? Is the device recognised by your computer? Can you play audio out of it? Does it appear in the audio mixer? Google search suggest that the device should work in "class compliant"...

When I switch to from "Yeti" to "Built-in input", it DOES record
That's useful information - rules out several possibilities.

In the system sound settings, if you select the Yeti as the recording device, do you see a signal level when you talk into the mic?
