Re: ACX plug in for Audacity

I have followed the instructions and in the window given in the Tools menu, I enter C:\Users\username\Destop\untitled. Click the "Browse" button in the Nyquist Plug-in Installer to locate the downloaded plug-in file. See also: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/nyquist_plug_in_installer....

I assumed that the "lossy" referred to the audio quality and not the potential length.
Some lossy formats will give the exact right length (example: OGG), but MP3 doesn't. It's a limitation of the MP3 format specification (also applies to some other lossy formats).

I posted a reply yesterday stating that I tracked down and fixed the issue, but it either got lost or has not yet been approved.
There are no posts waiting for approval, so it must have somehow got lost.

Thanks for posting the solution.

Re: edit preferences

Because Audacity links to the FFmpeg dll, it requires a compatible version of FFmpeg. When a compatible version of FFmpeg is installed, Audacity will normally find it without requiring user interaction. See this page in the manual for obtaining a compatible version of FFmpeg: https://manual.audacity...

Re: Editing pieces of tracks together

Would any of this action be considered "processing"? I saw a thread that differentiated between processing and editing. Strictly speaking, the "Mix and Render" step would be considered "processing", but assuming there is no overlap between the Audacity tracks (there's ...

Re: Possible bug in exporting files?

The reason for the different checksum is that Audacity works in 32-bit float format. The conversions that occur: Import: Flac -> 32-bit PCM (lossless) Export: 32-bit PCM -> 16-bit Flac (or 24-bit Flac) As Audacity is designed for recording, editing and audio processing, the default behaviour when ex...

Re: can't find the punch copy paste Nyquist plugin

Did you actually find the punch copy/ paste plug in and does it work on your Audacity 2.3.3.? I have exactly the same system (mac OS 10.14.6) and desperately looking for that plug in. I know Audacity itself has replaced it with Punch roll for the recording purposes, but I need punch copy / paste fo...

Re: Can’t save audio

To create a WAV file, use "File menu > Export > Export at WAV" rather than the "Save" command.

Re: Audacity stops after a few minutes recording [SOLVED]

I actually solved this. It was my webcam. I had unplugged the cam usb and thought that would solve the issue, as I believe it did previously. However, the pc needed a restart which then solved the problem. How strange. Thanks for posting the solution. I shall close this topic as "solved" ...
