Re: Can no longer enable plugins after 2.3.3 -> 2.4.0 update
Debian splits Audacity into two packages: 1) audacity 2) audacity data For a correct installation of Audacity, both packages, with matching version numbers should be installed. Thus to install Audacity 2.4.1 correctly, you need to install "audacity 2.4.0" and "audacity-data 2.4.0"...

Re: Is it possible to transform a sound track into a smoothened curve ?
I think the best thing to try is a total reset of Audacity and hope that clears the problem. To do that: Exit Audacity Open the hidden folder: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\audacity\ Delete the three files: audacity.cfg pluginregistry.cfg pluginsettings.cfg Launch Audacity. You should be greet...

Re: Macro Issues with 2.4.1
It seems like it might be showing dialogs for the built-in effects but not the Nyquist effects. That's exactly correct. It's a bug. The good news is that the next Audacity release is scheduled for not much more than a month, so hopefully it will then be fixed. The other good news is that you can no...
Re: Windows 7
Windows 7 has passed it's end of life. It is no longer supported.
As far as I'm aware, Audacity 2.4.1 will probably run OK on Windows 7, but if not, go back to Audacity 2.3.3..

Re: Problem with Linux version
first, this really obnoxious and persistent skipping of the cursor I'm not able to reproduce that issue. There's no shortcut for Join That's in the "Full" default set. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/keyboard_preferences.html The Solo and Mute buttons are mutually exclusive. Ther...

Re: Is it possible to transform a sound track into a smoothened curve ?
Did you download the EXE version of Audacity 2.4.1 or the ZIP version?
How did you install Audacity?
If you installed the EXE version, did you "reset preferences" during the installation?

Thanks for the clear steps.
I have logged this issue on the Audacity bug tracker.

Re: HELP about V 2.40 (SOLVED)
Please ignore my previous post because I solved the problem. Super :) Well done. But this means that Audacity when initializing takes the first device it finds and if there is an incompatibility it goes wrong without looking for another device. Audacity actually selects whatever device the sound sy...

Re: Is it possible to transform a sound track into a smoothened curve ?
I'll show you the problem: The Generate menu should look like this: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/generate_menu.html Notice the three menu items "below the line". They are Nyquist plug-ins. For some reason, Nyquist is not working in your version of Audacity. Try this: 1) Exit Audacit...
