If, for example, you have a project containing 1 audio track that's a couple of minutes duration, and a label track below it containing some labels, and you want to add a new label track with the first label lining up with the start of the audio, and then labels at intervals of exactly 2.4 seconds.....

Audacity 2.4.1 only supports 64-bit plug-ins.

then it's a packaging problem in the PPA and should be reported to the PPA maintainer.

In Audacity 2.4.1, ensure that "Ignore blank space at the beginning" is NOT selected in the Import/Export preferences.

If you are logged into a Wayland session, you will see problems with Audacity because Audacity does not yet support Wayland.

Audacity still supports LADSPA plug-ins. On Linux, LADSPA plug-ins have been superseded by LV2. There are very few LADSPA plug-ins for other platforms other than the "SWH plug-ins" that were ported to Windows and Mac (very many years ago). The SWH plug-ins are no longer supported on macOS ...
