Does Linux support on Chromebook support duplex audio? ("duplex" = bidirectional at the same time)

Re: Audacity 2.4.1 for Mac OS Catalina - Very Slow Interface Responses
If anyone can suggest why I should be noticing such a significant performance lag on Catalina compared to High Sierra, it would be much appreciated. I think that part of the problem is that Apple now use 10 bits per pixel per R G B rather than 8. This significantly slows down screen draws, though t...

Re: ACX Check fails in 2.4.1
But that process is the reason ACX Check exists. "How can I be sure I'm passing ACX Technical Standards?" OK, that's reasonable, though perhaps not possible with absolute certainty as we don't have access to their robot. What we can do is to have our own "robot" ("ACX-Check...

Re: What does this legend represent?
What does this legend represent -1 to +1 of what? This bugged me for ages when I started using Audacity. I still think that the +/- 1 scale is a bad choice (a dB scale would be much better), but the reason behind it is interesting. As you are probably aware, "signed 16-bit" audio data all...

Re: Using ffmpeg in /usr/local/bin/
Audacity links dynamically to FFmpeg. To do this, the version of FFmpeg has to match the FFmpeg code headers that Audacity was built with. Other versions of FFmpeg will not work with Audacity.

Re: Batch File conversion - AUP to MP3
It is highly unlikely that there will ever be a feature for batch converting AUP files. The current plan is that the next Audacity version after 2.4.2 will change the Audacity Project format, so there will no longer be AUP files. My personal recommendation is to export projects as WAV files as soon ...

Re: slow playback on a project
my audacity project is currently stored in a storage drive with a usb plug to connect into my laptop. its probably called an external hard drive having just looked on amazon. Just making a note of that for now. External storage devices are not recommended when working on projects, but this may be i...

Re: USB interface mixer Connecting and using
In the Device Toolbar the "host" should normally be "ALSA". Other options will appear if other sound systems are available, but usually "ALSA" is the only option.
What devices (Recording and Playback) do you have selected in the Device Toolbar?
