Re: Macros and Scripting
When using the plug-in's GUI, file names should not be quoted. I've not checked on Windows, but I think that either single forward slash "/" or back slash "\" can be used as the file separator. The file name must be a "fully qualified filename. On Windows that means that it ...

Re: no nyquist -no silence finder
I've installed Audacity through the command line using "sudo apt install audacity" a few days ago, using xubuntu 18.04. Audacity 2.4.1 is installed. Uninstall it, then remove the ubuntuhandbook1 PPA from your sources, then update the package list, then reinstall Audacity. You will get an ...

Re: Audacity recording channel 1 on both channels.
Look in the Windows Sound control panel. The device is probably set to "mono" and needs to be set to "stereo".

Re: Pre 2.3.3 Equilization plugin?
The new "Filter Curve EQ" in Audacity 2.4.1 has the same presets available as the old "Equalization" effect. You will find the presets under the "Manage" button.

Re: ACX meditation - silent gaps affecting RMS?
Yes, if you have a long pause, or quiet music, that will reduce the overall RMS level. I don't think the ACX specifications explicitly describe this kind of situation, but my guess is that if the speech parts are at the right level, then that'll be OK. It'll take a while, but I suggest that you subm...

Re: Recording with Behringer U-Control UCA222
Since I posted earlier, I've got it to work.. Somewhere along the way the audio cord between UCA222 and the Buddy had gone O/C.. Ah Ha! :) Now, win10 sees the "USB audio Codec" as before but it does not appear in the Audacity Ins OR outs. The device needs to be connected before launching ...

Re: Very slow files exporting
Is there a Flac compression level adjustment on Audacity ? Yes. When you select Flac format in the Export dialog, there's a multi-choice button labeled "Level:" with settings from 0 to 8 (default = 5). I doubt that it will make a lot of difference to the export speed, but it may help a bit.

Re: 32 Bit recording on Mac
Is there any benefit in recording on 32 bit float ? There are no benefits of 32-bit float for "recording" (and no down-side either apart from disk space, which shouldn't be an issue these days). The benefit comes when working with the audio after recording. When processing audio, 32-bit f...

Re: ACX Check fails in 2.4.1
but snd-length is only called on the reduced (10 samples/sec) sound. Nyquist uses "pointers" a lot internally, which can cause some confusion. Although snd-length is referencing the low sample rate copy of *track*, the low sample rate version is referencing *track* which is referencing th...

Re: a couple of bugs?
Which version of Audacity? (look in: "Help menu > About Audacity") I've hit the drop down menu in the track, went to name and it (I think) has show up behind the main window I'm not able to reproduce that with Audacity 2.4.2. and is there a setting to stop drag and dropped tracks from alwa...
