Re: Clipping Problems
I have access to two regular stage mics. I don't think they are dynamic mics. Most stage mics are dynamic mics. Do you know the make / model? If I just plug them into something like: the Scarlet Solo 3rd Gen Behringer UM2 Audiophile USB Audio Interface with Mic Preamplifier Ultra Mobile Guitar/Micr...

Re: Macro Not Using the Effect Preset That Is Supplied
Good news, I've just been testing a proposed fix for this, and it's looking good.
If you desperately need to use one of your old macros, let me know and it may be possible to devise a workaround to tie you over until the fix is available.

Re: Timeshift tool in Macros
I tried to fiddle around with the "Drag" event, without much success (and that is an experimental feature, I think, anyway). Yes it's an experimental feature. I think the only thing it is used for so far, is for automated screenshots for the manual that need to show a "tool tip"...

Re: Macro Not Using the Effect Preset That Is Supplied
Unfortunately this is due to a bug in Audacity 2.4.1.The bug affects all Nyquist plug-ins when used in Macros. This bug should be fixed in the next version of Audacity, which we are aiming to release as soon as possible. Is it just this one Macro that is causing you a problem, or do you need to use ...

Re: Clicking Noise
is that why you're suggesting it must be clipping somewhere before Audacity in the chain ? Yes, it seems to be clipping before it gets to Audacity. Notice the flat top to the waveform in the highlighted section: First Track000.png If you tell us about your equipment setup, we may be able to offer s...

Re: problem with audacity cross-platform sound editor
Audacity 2.4.1 does not require FFmpeg to import MP3 files. Perhaps there's something wrong with those files.
Try uploading one of them to this page for analysis: https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline
What does that webpage say about the file?

Re: Setting specific place and track for recording
If you are using the current version of Audacity (2.4.1) with standard default settings, just do "Record" rather than "Shift + Record".

3. Find the peak of each 10 samples of the RMS signal. Each result represents the maximum RMS for a 1/10th second interval. This part could be improved. As it is will read a bit too high. I think it would actually be better to just calculate the RMS with a 0.1 second window. The code as it is, was ...

Re: Clicking Noise
You've go a bit of "clipping" in that recording. Some part of the audio equipment prior to Audacity is slightly overloading. You need to reduce the signal level going into whatever part of your set-up is clipping. It "may" be possible to fix this bit with the Clip Fix effect (htt...
