Re: Red Triangles

1. "Help menu > Diagnostics > Audio Device Info" 2. Wait for the info window to appear 3. Click the "OK" (or "Save") button, and save the info somewhere convenient. 4. Attach the saved "deviceinfo.txt" to your reply. (https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.p...

Re: Can I leave audacity recording songs to detect silence and start new tracks itself?

It's tricky for us to answer this question as the Spotify terms of service specifically say that recording is prohibited. I think I can safely say that if you have a recording that has silences between tracks, then you can use "Silence Finder" to label the silences, and then "Export M...

I assume that you are referring to a previous version of Audacity? Which version? Are you comparing both on the same computer with the same Audacity project?

Re: Managing Input Level from LP

he should if possible capture at 24 bit Unfortunately, when using WDM drivers, you will only get 16-bit even with 24-bit hardware. WASAPI should give you 24-bit if (a) the hardware supports 24-bit, (b) the device is set to 24-bit in the Windows Sound control panel, (c) the sound card drivers fully ...

Re: hi, where to find .pdf copy of the manual? thanks

A PDF Manual would be tricky to produce from the online/bundled manual - as that is heavily based on hypertext (lots of embedded links) - hard to reproduce on paper or PDF. Do we have a PDF version of the "Audacity Tour Guide" (the short user guide) yet? I believe that was a plan, but I d...

Re: TRACKING STEREO AT TWO DIFFERENT VOLUMES???

If you turn the gain up the gain goes... up.. Right? Can't quite understand what you're saying here... On all audio equipment that I've seen over the last couple of decades, yes, turning a gain control clockwise increases the gain, though I have seen (and used) some very old hardware that worked th...

Re: Audio Lag

The funny thing is, my other computers will play a 0.17sec. audio clip just fine. Different sound card with different drivers. The sound card "should" flush it's playback buffer on stop (continue playing until the playback buffer is empty), but some sound cards don't do that. would a soli...
