Did you succeed? Were there Windows sound enhancements enabled and were you able to turn them off?

If you attach the ".aup" file to your reply, I'll be able to tell you what the file and folder should be called.

Re: Seamless loop of engine sound
The short sample actually seems to loop pretty seamlessly. I made about 3 attempts, zoomed in both horizontally and vertically so that I could see the shape of the waveform, and looked for a repeating pattern in the waveform. I selected just before a "zero crossing point" (where the wavef...

Re: Hyper-crisp recording
how do I split the hyper crispness from the normal , clear speech? It's usually better to avoid problems rather than trying to fix them later. How are you recording your voice? What microphone do you have (make and model) How is the mic connected to your computer? What sort of mic stand do you use?...

Re: macro operation only successful on first 27 files
I've just tested that with Audacity 2.4.1 on Xubuntu 18.04 LTS.
I ran a batch of 42 files and it completed the full batch with no problem.
My files were various lengths from about 3 minutes to just under an hour. Some mono, some stereo, and a mix of file formats: WAV, MP3, OGG, M4A.

Re: Inconsistency on Cancel/OK button ordering
Yes you can, but Linux isn't consistent. By default, KDE and Gnome are the opposite way round (at least they were the last time I looked, but I've been using Xfce for the last few years).Neil Darlow wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 1:58 pmYou can accommodate differing button conventions for each operating system in cross-platform applications

Re: changing pitch tool
Testing on Windows I see that it is indeed a lot slower.
I'm seeing processing times twice as long with 2.4.1 compared with 2.3.1.
I'll log this on the bug tracker.

Re: Double-click stop to reset
in other applications such as Ableton "such as Ableton", or "only Ableton"? (I've not noticed this behaviour in other DAWs, and my usual DAW (Ardour) does not have this behaviour). Many UX guidelines recommend against using double-click unless absolutely necessary. For example, ...

Re: Inconsistency on Cancel/OK button ordering
On Linux there is an inconsistency because Audacity uses the order: OK/Yes <-> Cancel/No This is consistent across all platforms (Windows / Mac / Linux). but the file browser in Audacity is derived from the underlying system, which use the order: Cancel/Close <-> Open/Save This is consistent with th...
