Re: Can't save files
Your previous post is on the wrong board, but don't worry, I'm sure that someone will delete it eventually. Regarding the problem - I've not come across this before (not that many Win 2k users here) Audacity 1.2.x stores its settings in the registry, so there could be some incompatibility problem if...

Sorry, I don't understand. Do you mean that you now have a USB microphone, or a USB keyboard?

Re: bad sound
Make sure that all the tracks are wav format - Audio CD's need wav files, not mp3's.
You can export from Audacity as wav.
(Also make sure that you select "Audio CD" in your CD burning software).

Re: Open *.mpa files in Audacity 1.3.4
I was not aware that Audacity ever supported wma files, but anyway, you are correct, it doesn't now. You need to use a suitable format converter to convert wma into wav. On Windows you can do that with SUPER (which is a bit of a pain to download, and a strange interface, but it works and it's free)....

Re: Audacity getting confused with multiple windows open
Yes you are misunderstanding something - but not to worry, I'll try and make it clear. ;) You should only open one Audacity window at a time. If you want multiple tracks, or multiple "takes", just create new tracks from the "Tracks" menu. If you want to play only some of the trac...

Re: Turn mono track to stereo?
Make a copy of the mono track. Click on the name of one of the tracks and set it to "Left Channel" in the drop down menu. Click on the name of the other track and set it to "Right Channel" in the drop down menu. Select BOTH tracks (Ctrl + A selects "all") Then select fr...

Re: no recording option (pics)
I've not got Vista, but there may be something here to help (particularly lower down the page): http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS If you get it working, it could help others if you post what steps you have taken. If you still have problems, please post again and say what ...

Re: Export sounds absolutely horrible!
Need a little clarification here: You play the recording in Audacity and it sounds great. You export the audio. What program are you playing the exported audio with? If you import the audio back into a new Audacity project, how does it sound? If you Export as a wav file, then Right Click on the file...

Re: No Sound on Playback
The setting that you need is "Edit->Preferences->Audio I/O" then look at the box "Playback Device". This should be your soundcard and NOT the turntable (as the turntable is only an input/Recording device, not playback).
