You're quite right, that's only in 1.3 - however, I think it's still a good idea to start a new project when you are um.... starting a new project (rather than just deleting tracks and using the same project).kozikowski wrote:I didn't think Audacity 1.2.x had timers. Where do you set that?

Re: Open *.mpa files in Audacity 1.3.4
Sorry, I thought you said wma. MPA is MPEG-1, however it does not specify which version of MPEG-1 it is (layer 1, 2 or 3). MPEG-1 layer 3 is generally known as "MP3". If your mpa files are MPEG-1 layer 3, then as long as you have LAME installed, you can simply rename them as mp3's and they...

Re: No Sound on Playback
Your recording device should be the USB turntable. Software playthrough should be off - to hear the turntable while you record, you should plug the phono connectors of the turntable into your hi-fi.

Re: can't record
"I've changed nothing, but now it doesn't work..." It is extremely unlikely that Audacity will work one day then not the next unless something HAS changed. It may not be you that has changed something though - does anyone else use the computer (perhaps changing the Windows mixer settings s...

Re: bounce to disc
Pan the tracks to where you want them in the stereo mix, then select the tracks to mix and click on: "Project -> Qick Mix". Note 1) If your project preferences are set for mono and all tracks are set panned to center, you will get a mono mix from doing this. To force a stereo mix, insert a...

Re: Left channel only
The "line in" jack is a true stereo connection - and is likely to be much better suited to recording your guitar than the mic input. 'm using a 1/4 inch guitar cord with an adapter (1/4 inch female to headphone male) This is a mono signal, connected to the jack input via a mono lead, which...

Re: no more sound
You may have a hardware problem with either the mic or the mic input (giving you a DC voltage on the input instead of an audio signal). Is it possible for you to try recording with a different input source and a different input socket? (for example using a tape player into the "line in").
