So how do you have it set up in 1.2.6 - how are you able to monitor the recording with that?

Re: Newbie: Stops recording after a few minutes

There is no demo mode for Audacity - it is free, fully functional Open Source software. It stops recording after 3 seconds, every time. Exactly 3 seconds. then after a few minutes it just stops recording. It is unlikely that anyone can give you will get an accurate response to help sort out your pro...

Then dump WMP and use a better program (Music Cube for example http://www.musikcube.com/)

Re: No audio playthrough during recording

Using USB Audio Codec to record, built in audio to listen. Records fine, but cannot find any settings that allow me to hear while recording. Neither Hardware nor Software playthrough checkboxes work. Assuming that you have the playback device set to your built in audio, and it works correctly for p...

Re: Recording electric guitar

I always prefer to mic up the cabs for electric guitars rather than DI, but if you must DI, put it through a modelling pre-amp first (example line 6 pod) - (the guitar effects for Audacity are still pretty basic). For a song, you'll need a decent mic for vocals - Check out the large diaphragm conden...

Re: headphone recording

(Leave "Software Playthrough" unselected)

Re: Latency on USB input from PODxt

I'm guessing that you have got "Software Playthrough" selected in v.1.3.4 ("Edit->Preferences->Audio I/O") which is sure to cause noticeable latency. No idea how you've got 1.2.6 set up to avoid it, but I'd have a look there first and simply copy the settings to 1.3.4

Re: removing static

Better still, there's a tutorial about noise removal in the Audacity wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Noise_Removal and one about removing clicks: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Click_Removal and some information about removing single clicks with "Repair" ef...

Re: Audacity & Karaoke...

To burn karaoke disks your CD burner must be "CD+G" capable. You can test your burner with the "Nero InfoTool" (http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero8-tools-utilities.html) There are various programs available for burning karaoke CD's, but It's not a thing that I've done so I can'...
